Brevak Racing Looks to Celebrate end of 2011 in Victory Lane

TOLEDO Ohio (October 14 2011) –  Brent Brevak and the #3 Brevak Racing team takes to the beating and banging of short track racing at Toledo Speedway this Sunday in the ARCA Series, presented by Menards, season finale. Brevak will look for a strong finish to the season in the Federated Car Care 200, broadcast LIVE on SPEED on Sunday Oct. 16 at 2pm ET.

The race at Toledo Speedway is Brevak Racing’s sixth race of the 2011 ARCA schedule.  Brevak has had an eventful season – working through a combination of mechanical failures at Daytona International Speedway and Madison International Speedway, as well as getting collected in an unfortunate multi-car pile up on lap two at Pocono Raceway.

On the other hand, Brevak has also impressed with his driving potential – collecting his first career ARCA Series top ten finish – at the legendary Chicagoland Speedway.

When asked about his thoughts on the season as it wraps up in Toledo Brevak said, “We definitely had to deal with the mechanical problems and having absolutely no where to go when the wreck happened in front of me at Pocono, but I can’t say the 2011 season was a disappointment by any means! I got the opportunity many drivers only dream about: my first career start at the famous Daytona International Speedway, a feeling beyond words, and getting our first top ten finish of my ARCA career at Chicagoland.  I’ve raced atToledoin the ASA North Series, so I’m really hoping to use that experience to run in the top 10 again and, God willing, put the #3 in victory lane yet this year to get amped up for 2012!”

“I too am looking forward to 2012!” commented Shelly Brevak, team owner.  “We accomplished our team goal of running in the top ten and using Brent’s experience on the major speedways in 2011 to prepare for an expanded solid effort in 2012.  I would personally like to thank Mark Gibson and everyone at MGR for helping make that possible.  I’d also like to acknowledge Joe Slonkosky for playing a big part in helping to advance Brent’s racing career for the past several years.  We ask everyone in the racing community to continue to keep him in their prayers as he continues to recover from a severe stroke.”

On a musical note, Shelly Brevak, will be singing the National Anthem during the pre-race ceremonies at the USAC Silver Crown race on Saturday and the ARCA Series Championship event on Sunday. (Shelly was a choral music teacher for 13 years and is currently a master adjudicator for the Wisconsin School Music Association).  Shelly has sung the National Anthem at several ARCA and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.

“I feel honored to be asked to sing the Anthems again during this special ARCA Championship weekend,” stated Shelly Brevak.  “To be able to represent ARCA, and our team to honor this great nation we live in is truly special.  I’d like to dedicate my performances this weekend to our troops that continue to fight and those that have died defending our country and to all of the fans that continue to support our sport during these tough times.”

Team owner Shelly Brevak, who is also a business owner in Ashland  Wisconsin, together with husband Bob Brevak, (himself ARCA’s 1990 ARCA) are excited about rooting for son Brent Brevak as he targets Toledo for a Victory Lane experience.

The Herr’s Federated Car Care 200 (200 laps / 100 miles) is the final event on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. Practice begins Saturday, Oct. 15 with two 45 minute practice sessions planned from 12:00-12:45pm and 1:40-2:25 p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m. ET.
